How I use AI
AI speeds up my work in every phase of design, but it never replaces my judgment. Each phase below pairs what AI helps with and the human check that keeps the work accurate and learner-centered.
Phase 1: Analysis and needs discovery
Goal: Understand learner gaps, synthesize stakeholder input, and define the business problem.
AI assistance: Upload SME interview transcripts, raw notes, or survey data and ask AI to pull out key themes, common pain points, and action items.
Human check: Validate AI-generated assumptions against the real workplace context and stakeholder constraints.
Phase 2: Design and mapping
Goal: Map out learning objectives, course structure, and alignment.
AI assistance:
- After drafting learning objectives, ask AI to edit them for clarity and concision and align them with Bloom's Taxonomy.
- After drafting the course map and outline, ask AI to check for a coherent sequence from course goals to assessments.
Human check: Own the instructional strategy and confirm that objectives truly match performance requirements.
Phase 3: Content authoring and scripting
Goal: Turn outlines into narration scripts, slide copy, and practice scenarios.
AI assistance: Give AI draft module copy, case studies, or video scripts to review for clarity and consistency.
Human check: Edit for tone, voice, accuracy, and context, removing generic filler and anything culturally insensitive.
Phase 4: Assessments and activities
Goal: Create valid knowledge checks, practice exercises, and feedback.
AI assistance: Have AI review draft assessment questions, scenarios, and discussion prompts to make sure they map directly to the learning objectives.
Human check: Review question validity, check for trick wording, and make sure answer keys are unambiguous.
Phase 5: Media, visuals, and technical production
Goal: Build slide decks, storyboards, graphics, and interactive web or SCORM packages.
AI assistance:
- Use AI presentation and design tools to turn outlines and text into slide layouts or visual storyboards.
- Generate custom images or vector graphics with image generators.
- Add AI-driven scenarios to eLearning, such as connecting AI scenario blocks to Articulate Storyline through web objects.
Human check: Confirm accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA, ADA), visual clarity, and SCORM/xAPI tracking before launch.
